Following the National Talking Express Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in October 2022, it was decided to shut down the charitable activities of the organisation and bring our long and illustrious chapter to its natural conclusion. We had a really good innings and over the years we accomplished some truly historical and noteworthy moments in broadcasting.
Over the next few days, our funds will be made available to similar organisations as agreed by our EGM. Our website will remain live until 16th April 2024, after which time the domain will no longer be renewed. The organisation’s telephone and email will be going offline following the Easter weekend. Any subsequent queries in relation to the NTE can be made by emailing Muzz Lakhani muzz.lakhani@gmail.com, by Telephone 07743853679 or by Post to: Mr. M Lakhani, 21 Henrietta Street, Bristol, BS5 6HU.
Our users have found us to be a valuable resource for information and activities, especially relating to interests concerning blindness and print disabilities. We hope that you will be able to turn to other organisations and sources of information - some links are available on other pages on our website.
Here is a final message from Phil Troll, our chairman and Co-Founder.
It has been an honour and a pleasure to be of service to everyone around the world. We wish you the very best for the future. Therefore, for the last time from the committee, Goodbye, Farewell, and thank you ever so much for your continued generous support.
On Sat 1st Oct 2022 at 1400BST/1300GMT, there will be a special EGM held where the aim is to decide the dissolution of the National Talking Express as a Registered Charity. We want to ensure that all members, full & associate, participate in this meeting in order to have a satisfactory conclusion to our work, the future of our finances & our general legacy.
We hope to see you via Zoom either online or via telephone:

We partly finance production of the magazines with weekly public collections, mainly at mainline tube stations in and around London but occasionally in other towns and cities. The collections take place every Wednesday, either at peak travel times or all day from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, with people taking various shifts. Collections are led by experienced staff who amongst other tasks, can supply the collectors with hot tea and biscuits! If you would like to help please contact the office on 0203 609 7255.
